Make Your Own Easy Lavender Oil & Lavender-Water Spray

Lavender Oil and Sprigs of Lavender

So this is one of those eternal questions...

What to make with the abundance of cut lavender from the garden at La Bergerie 💜

For years, my bedtime routine has included misting the pillow with a spritz of shop-bought Lavender water....

It's wonderful for promoting restful sleep, natural healing and a general sense of calm and wellbeing. I can highly recommend you try it. And it makes your hair smell lovely too of course.

So with all this cut lavender I thought i'd have a go at making my own Lavender oil and lavender water spray.

Here's the Lavender Water/Lavender Oil recipe if you fancy having a go at making it yourself...

First, the Lavender-infused oil is made simply by putting a few sprigs of lavender in a sealed jar of your favourite carrier oil (I like to use sweet almond oil as it's light enough for use on the face), and then leave the jar on the windowsill for 3 weeks to allow the lavender to infuse throughly. Once you’re happy that enough infusion has occurred (you'll know by smell), use a cheesecloth to strain out the lavender flowers and store the infused oil in a glass container.

To make the lavender spray / lavender water...

You'll need:
A small jar or container with tight-fitting lid
2 tablespoons of vodka
10 drops of lavender oil
6 tablespoons of water
Small spray bottle
Funnel

Method:
- Combine the vodka and lavender oil in the jar, replace the lid and shake until they are combined. The vodka is there to help the oil mix with the water next.
- Add in the water, replace lid and shake until combined.
- Put a funnel into the spray bottle to help transfer the liquid without losing any.
- Spray onto bedding, clothing, or in rooms you want to create a calming and relaxing vibe in.

Let me know how you get on.

Sleep well my lovely 💜🥰
